What’s the best way to start off the New Year? With a blog post about a personal project of course! Months ago, I told you guys about my project, The Gentlemen’s Club (GC) and its first inductee, Nyerere Billups. If you have no clue what I’m referring to, click here. In light of everything that’s been going on politically and socially against Black men, it’s imperative that reflections like this project continue to demonstrate a varied perspective of the Black male that’s not usually shown by the media.

I obviously adore photographing people in general but I thoroughly enjoy capturing people who have created their own style and own it. I had a chance to briefly sit down with my next inductee into the GC to discuss his gentlemen definition, style trends, music etc. Check out the short video and the all the images that we created that day.
