Jonelle + Jamarl – 8.8.15

Anytime my job requires that I travel to the Big Apple, I’m all in! This year, I had the distinct pleasure and honor of photographing Jonelle and Jamarl’s nuptials at El Caribe in the borough of Brooklyn, NY. YAY!! From start to finish, the JTP team felt like extended family members who were invited to attend our loved ones’ wedding. Instead of the typical American rehearsal dinner I’ve become accustomed to, I had the opportunity to witness my first Guyanese kweh-kweh. A kweh-kweh is a music-centered Afro-Guyanese pre-wedding ritual. Loved every second of it!!

Where to start on this wedding?? The venue…beautiful. The dress…impeccable. The bride…gorgeous. The groom…charming. The dancing…hype. The guests…lovingly warm. The food…Lord, the FOOD! Listen, I’ve never seen such an abundance of tasty food at one wedding before in my entire life!! Most noticeably, the love between Jonelle and Jamarl permeated the celebratory atmosphere.

Now I understand the phrase, “Show love…it’s the Brooklyn way!” Felicidades Jonelle and Jamarl!
